A Cozy Cafe in Bintaro, South Tangerang
Book and coffee, both are good friends.
As a book worm, I always look for a good bookshop, everywhere I go. A mall with a bookshop/bookshops has a higher grade to me than the one without it. A luxury mall without bookshop is just 'eh'.
It was Saturday afternoon, last weekend, together with a dozen food-bloggers, I joined a food-blogger gathering in the newly opened Cozyfield Cafe in Bintaro area, Tangerang.
This is the first ever & only cafe run by Gramedia 'Bookshop' Group. I was excited to receive the invitation, oh... finally Gramedia opens its own cafe.
Cozy ambiance was felt since we came in. Wooden chairs are combined nicely with sofas and wooden stools. Green bottle lights are hung from the high dark ceiling, giving a nice tone while combining natural light from big floor-to-ceiling windows and some standing lamps.
Dominated by natural materials, the restaurant interior is a perfect spot for anyone who's looking for quiet place for reading or casual get-together. We feel like we're in our own comfy living room. Beautiful vertical linings of 'opened' bamboo as the wall panels to obstruct vistas providing nice privacy from one to another area.

Natural materials are not only used in the cafe interior. Some of the menus are served in beautiful wooden plates. Fusion menu concept reconstructs traditional menu that is served with modern style.
I couldn't review all of the dishes, only the one that I ordered. However I managed to take some pictures of dishes ordered by others.

spicy lime leaf minced beef, urab salad and lontong.

So... here was my lunch :
Massaman Beef Cubes with Tamarind Jam, Vegetables and Baby Potato Crisps (105K)
What I know, Massaman is a Thai Beef Curry. Like other type of curry, normally it's served in a bowl where the beef and curry soup are put together inside the bowl.
This time, the soft beef cubes were arranged nicely in the white rim soup bowl. Some steamed vegetables and roasted baby potatoes (with some potato chips were tucked in it) were arrayed nicely beside the beef cubes. Tamarind jam was smeared on the side plate. The sauce was served in the saucer.
It tasted very good. The beef was seasoned nicely and not overcooked. Just perfect. Delicious.
I couldn't help myself, not to comment about the plating. It's a very nice idea, but the tamarind jam should be better than that. I think it's a bit too thick, ...and unfortunately the result looks a bit messy.
Rawon Re-born (105K)
seared strip-loin, black ink qual's eggs, rice, emping & sambal.
Pic : Beef Burger Rendang Floss
in Oat Bun, chilli jam, relish & fries or wedges
For those who just come for reading and need some snacks or coffee, they can order some pastry; croissant, eclair, choco-praline, or trying Cozyfield exotic muffin; tape (fermented cassava) and nangka (jack fruit) muffins. Coffee and healthy juice are available here.
So, for you who live around Bintaro Sektor 9 area, this is one option for hang out or for spending your reading time here, the place that you can feel at home.
Thank you Cozyfield Cafe for hosting the FoodBlogger Gathering.

Complete bookshop with a cafe... is a blessing.
