Chocolate Waffle COOKIEs
Waffle Iron tidak saja digunakan u/ membuat waffle, bisa juga dipakai membuat cookie. Niiih contohnya. Awalnya Sabtu pagi ini kita sekluarga sarapan waffle. FYI, resep waffle andalan keluarga kami adalah resep pancake andalan kami ditambahkan 2 tbsp vegetable oil/melted margarine di adonannya. Udah siap dipakai. Konsepnya pancake/waffle itu kan 'quick bread' jadi yah bikinnya emang super-duper praktis dgn hasil super-duper yummy :)).
Siang-nya, si waffle iron diperkerjakan lagi, buat bikin cookie. Kebetulan ada resep praktis ini yg sy dpt dari www.marthastewart.com. Ternyata, bikinnya gampang dan hasilnya crunchy bgt, kayag cookie gitu. Jangan bingung kalo wkt cookie dikeluarkan dari cetakan wujudnya masih empuk. Nah stelah didiemin bbrp menit di atas wire rack... tennneeeng... bener2 mengeras kayag layagnya wujud cookie. Sy cuma bikin 1/2 resep, itu juga jadinya lumayan byk. Di resep aslinya di bagian atas cookie diberi icing. Tp gak sy lakukan, krn rencana snack ini mo dibawa pegi renang ntar sore. Kalo pake icing, takutnya belepotan dan repot makannya.

Makes about 4 dozen
3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped (~84 gr)
18 tablespoons (2 1/4 sticks) unsalted butter
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 cup unsweetened Dutch-process cocoa powder, plus 2 tablespoons for icing
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup confectioners' sugar, plus more for dusting
1 1/2 tablespoons milk
Vegetable oil cooking spray
1. Melt chocolate with 1 cup butter (2 sticks) in a saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Let cool slightly.
2. Put eggs, vanilla, and granulated sugar in bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix on medium speed until pale, 4 to 5 minutes. Mix in chocolate mixture, salt, cinnamon, 1/2 cup cocoa powder, and the flour.
3. Heat a waffle iron until hot. Lightly coat grids with cooking spray. Spoon about 1 tablespoon (*) batter onto center of each waffle-iron square to make 1 1/2-inch rounds. Close cover; cook until set, about 1 1/2 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack, bottom sides up. Let cool completely. Repeat with remaining batter, coating grids with cooking spray after each batch.
4. Melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add confectioners' sugar and remaining 2 tablespoons cocoa powder; stir until smooth. Stir in milk.
5. Gently dip 1 surface of each cookie in icing so that just the waffle lines (not gaps) are coated. Repeat with remaining cookies and icing. Transfer to wire racks; let stand until set, about 10 minutes. Dust iced surfaces of cookies with confectioners’ sugar. Cookies can be stored in single layers in airtight containers at room temperature up to 2 days.

(*) tergantung ukuran waffle iron-nya yah. Kalo punya sy, yg ukurannya kecil... sy cuma pake 1/2 sdm adonan u/ 1 cookie.
+ Cookie ini dibikin Sabtu siang, Minggu sore... dah ludes. Senen ini dah diorder u/ bikin lagih :)

Waffle Iron/Waffle Maker/Cetakan Waffle
Nah gini deh gambaran cetakan waffle. Ini hasil searching di Google Picture.
Punya sy mirip ama cetakan pertama (paling kiri), yg bentuknya bulet, tapi lebih tipis dikit. Sebenarnya ini punya kakak sy, yg dia beli bbrp tahun sebelum dia nikah. Nah wkt dia nikah 2.5 th yll, cetakan ini 'tertinggal' di rumah bo-nyok. Wkt mudik ke Jkt July lalu, ... krn kesian cetakan ini nganggur di lemari, sy sempet bbrp kali nyoba bikin waffle. Ternyata anak2 suka (skrg papah-nya pun doyan), jadi cetakan ini sy bawa deh ke Bppn :) Merk-nya Maspion. Sayangnya udah gak ada bungkus-nya jadi otomatis gak ada manufacturer's instructions-nya. Sekarang sih sy cuma berpatokan pada light indicator-nya, kalo lampu-nya mati berarti waffle/waffle cookie dah mateng.
